Under The Milk...This one is closer than I thought.

Under The Milky Way is in accord with most of The Church's other material. I think what made it stand out and gave them their only top 40 hit is the line, "wish I knew what you were looking for." A line like this is universal. Listener, apply as needed.

There’s a lyric in Cole Porter’s song, Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye, that goes, "how strange the change from major to minor." This is a clever musical reference to the inherent happy/sad emotional differences between these two keys in music. And here is where I think The Church has a “sad” advantage over Neutral Milk Hotel. Two Headed Boy is in a major key, while Under The Milky Way starts with that A minor that has reared many a sad songs.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07247128304668766432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-697219816427349669.post-26352662586588750342016-03-21T23:48:20.542-07:002016-03-21T23:48:20.542-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07247128304668766432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-697219816427349669.post-14396345818941956312016-03-21T12:11:58.534-07:002016-03-21T12:11:58.534-07:00"Fish is flesh" is the name of my new ba..."Fish is flesh" is the name of my new band.R Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09415214833146343679noreply@blogger.com
